Top Gear (UK&US)

I love the UK Top gear. i hate the usa version i dont even bother watching it

i got my parents hooked on TopGear UK, we watch it every night that it's on. the Monday marathons are the best start to the week. The US version was filmed on the other side of the city from me, so i watched the first season. i can actually say that i enjoyed it. i knew going into it that it wasnt the UK version, so that helped. the two hosts besides tanner sucked imo, but i liked the moonshine runner bit (especially when they all got drunk), and the hennessey raptor was INSANE.

It's kinda funny, I've gotten everyone at my work hooked on the UK TopGear. Keep in mind that most of them don't know/care much about cars:icon_thumby:

Such is the power of TopGear haha

The US version is almost unwatchable, but I try to watch UK Topgear whenever I can on BBC America. It's too bad Netflix only has up to Season 13:annoyed:

The Toyota Hilux episode is still one of my favorites

I need to put those in my lineup then. I'm sure I've seen most of them but I love the show.

And yes the arctic circle one is awesome. I love it when Jeremy gets fed up and just floors it through the ice and snow. Of course he breaks things too.:icon_thumby:

I haven't seen most of the first season of US TG, but I enjoyed what I saw, I think they got nervous about living up to the name and accidentally overdid it as opposed to intentionally overdoing it. I have faith that one day it will be as good as UK TG.

Also, because now i'll get to see more american car reviews for cars that are actually sold here lol as opposed to a Fiat Panda or something.

Also, I firmly believe that Top GearUK is a big reason why they are bothering to export the Fiat 500 to America as I doubt anyone here would of known, or cared about it otherwise.

The US version just seems too scripted, or they're are just trying to hard to read off of a prompter. Granted, the UK TopGear is scripted as well, but it seems Hammond, May, and Clarkson do a good job to make it not seem that way. Also, I had objections about the US version putting that F-150 Raptor on their road course:shok:. That's A LOT of truck to be tossing into a corner haha.

I'd like to drive one of those 500's though, espicially the Abarth version. I see those cars running around all over the place in lower Michigan

If I were goign to get a city car, it'd deffiinitely be a 500, I'm just glad they didn't remodel it as a Chrysler like I first read they would. 1. I don;t liek Crysler all that much and 2. the 500 looks spiffy.

Hello

Top Gear(UK) is the only car show my wife likes. She thinks its a great show. I enjoy it for the cars I would love to have but never be able to get.

igiveup

I too enjoy the exposure to cars for which I will never own, either through price or limited run. Also the car based antics and adventures I want to have but can't afford lol like seeing how fast a Transit can go around the Nurburgring. (oh god how I want to take my Ranger around that track)

ALSO: If anyone would like to post up some YouTube bits of their favorite moments/segments I'll try to add them to my first post.

Did anyonme else fall in love with the V8 Ariel Atom like I did? It was reviewed in the first episode of series 16, went to the top of the leaderboard too.

Yeah It was almost sick how fast it was, Personally I liked the first one. But Not saying I wouldn't take it around the test track a time or Two:drool:

The price gap between the standard one and the V8 is rediculously enormous.

Not bad for a road legal go kart on steroid, I want to take one on a skidpan :D or put some offroad tires on it, raise it a few inches and do some damage in a field or a dirt track.

I haven't seen the V8 Atom, just the K20 powered version. The Noble M12 or M400's on that show are still one of my favorite road cars, I've seen a few around southeast Michigan too
