Wow. I just wanted to thank the vets and remember the ones who died.

Oilpatch, either say something respectfully, or shut up and don't type anything.

I have never seen such disrespect in my life........................
But he's a Christian, so it's OK

OilPatch is a big knob. I've learned to ignore the majority of his posts. Anyone who follows the word of Fred Phelps has a severe mental deficiency and should be treated like a child.

I want to give a big thank you to all of you in the armed forces and are vets of the armed forces. No one deserves more respect and honor than the men/women who put their life on the line every day for our freedom and safety.

Lots of people take this for granted, but I try to thank a vet whenever I see one. My late grandfather served during the Korean War, and I never thanked him for it, because I never knew.

So to all of the soldiers out there:

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!:clapping::clapping:

+1:icon_thumby:

You won't get no nice fanciful cute words from me. The Christian message is simple:

DON'T WORSHIP THE DEAD. Stop your Idolatrous FLAG WORSHIP! PUT AWAY YOUR IDOLATRY.

so what your saying is that you dont think that people who died to keep us free and safer deserve any rememberance? people died so we could have the freedoms we have today(not that theres as many nowadays). they died to try to make this country and world a better place, but do you have to be so damn negitive all the time? saying vets(live or dead) dont deserve any special day is like saying that easter is pointless. Christ died on the cross for our sins. soldiers died on the battlefeild keeping us and the world safe.
(sorry for the religeous stuff if it affended anyone)

Yes, Patch showed some staggering insensitivity. As I told him in a PM while warning him (I see that Jim must have banned him now) even if what he said were true, a Christian would not use the truth to injure. That was ridiculous.

Former marine here too: 1986-1996, 0811/2131/8151. F 2/12 form '87-'91; OMC 1st FSSG from '91-'92, MSGBN; AE Freetown '93-'94 and AE Paris '94-'95 and then I was the 1/11 Ordnance Chief from '95-'96.

while I would not like to verge off this subject, if you read the good book, jesus loved everyone, hated the sin, but loved everyone....ain't that what we are supposed to do, love everyone and hate none? Sorry for the rant, love ya vets, as I could not go into service for asthma, I would have been there with ya.

I banned you until tomarrow so the rest of us can honor others sacrifices without you crapping all over it.

IDOLATRY = The worship of idols, images, or anything which is not God; the worship of false gods.

Taking a day to remember those we've lost, thank those who have served, and displaying the flag of our country is not idolatry.

Christ did not want anyone to worship any god other than him. He would be sacrificed to forgive all mans sins, both past and future. The only way to God is through his son Jesus Christ. If people were able to reach God by worshiping anything/anyone (such as idols) other than Jesus Christ, then his sacrifice here would have been pointless.

None of us have access straight to God (the father) because we are all unclean and have a sinful nature. Our relationship with Christ and his forgiveness for our sins allows us to reach the father.

I applogize to the rest of you for this short sermon.

I am celebrating this day as well. For those who have ever looked, TRS-2 is a tribute to the military. I'm doing bodywork on the truck now, but when it's done it will have a new tribute to the military.........but it wont be an idol.

Amen brother!!

I'm a christian too, and that kind of talk that Oilpatch presented is not the way of christians. We are not supposed to go around and smack people around because they are sinners, because all of us are. These soldiers proudly died for God and country.

As my paster puts it "God hates sin, but loves sinners".

Enjoy the day, gentlemen!!! If you drink:beer::icon_cheers:, PLEASE don't drive.:3gears: Call a cab!:icon_thumby:

I also wanna thank all the vets as well as those in the military. Without you I couldn't have spent a beautiful morning on the lake catching largemouth. THANK YOU ALL!!

and OilPatch (in my opinion) you should have a life ban for saying some BS like that, completely ridiculous! feel free to leave the country ANY TIME. And guessing by your moronic interpretation of the bible you must be a Westboro Baptist?

Hey now, let's not start attacking specific religions.....

Hope everyone had a good Memorial Day.

It's great to have a day off to honor (not worship) those who gave their life for a noble cause.

Thanks to all those who gave their lives to keep us free.

Future Army here. I am working on my Warrant Officer packet as we speak.
