Toenails suck!!!

so i got an ingrown toenail. i go to the doctor, and he casually says, "no biggie, i will just take it off." OFF. HE TOOK MY FREAKING TOENAIL OFF!!! I have it in my pocket, so if anyone throws that worthless without pics thing up, i will do it. now my toe is numb. and i have no toenail

Wait til you find out how sensitive the skin under your nail is now that its exposed. Heat, cold, bumping it... EVERYTHING seems to bother it. lol

The toenail? all depend son weather or not the doc burned the root. I had mine removed on my big toe (right foot) and the doc burned the root, no more toe nail for the last 14 years. And as someone else stated YES it is very sensitive for a long time.

I have this coming on....I have been avoiding the Doc, I keep digging into it with clippers. What did the Doc do?

Atleast you got it numbed first. My piano took my big one off when I was moving a few years back...that felt great.

I dropped a trashcan on my big toe one time. It killed basically the entire toe nail. it took almost 1 year exactly for the whole nail to grow out.

my doc just cut 1/8 in from the side all the way down the nail and pulled that section out and then put this root killer on the base where he cut, so now my nail isnt as wide, but that damn thing hurt like crazy and now my other foot is coming close to needing it. i cut at an angle and rip the whole big triangle out to keep it from getting infected

i had both toes done at the same time(just one side of each), the doc only took off about a 1/8 on the sides that needed it. either way it does suk and i feel your pain brotha!!

I watched when i had mine done. He basically took a metal pospsicle type of instrument, dug under the nail and pushed all the way to the cuticle and then lifted. kind of like using a crowbar.
