Todays weather

The temperature has been dropping all day, here. Cyrrently 38 and supposed to hit 24 tonight. Just a few tiny flurries.

I tried turning in the gas fireplace. It won't stay lit. Propane tank is 40% full. I need to clean the pilot valve and sensors, I guess. I can get the pilot lit and it will mostly stay lit. But in a minute or less after the main burner lights, it all goes out. I don't feel like fiddling with it any more tonight. I need to read up on how these things control themselves. There is a tiny thrmocouple looking thing durectly in front if the pilot and there is a bigger cylindrical bulb thing that sits over top of the pilot flame. Don't honestly know the true function of either one. I know one turns off the pilot if it doesn't sense it.

The pilot heats the bulb... pressure created in bulb allows the burner gas valve to function.

That is all I can get the furnace to do in my camper. My research shown on them there is a "wind switch" that senses if the exhaust fan is running when the main burner kicks on, if it doesn't see that it kills everything.

I haven't gotten bored enough to pull the furnace out and see if that is what is wrong.

The big bulb or the little tiny thing? There are 2 different sensing devices. I'll google it eventually.

I'm really not a furnace repair guy...

Just throwing out my understanding of how they work.

I put the escape in the garage last night so I wouldn’t have to deal with scraping or doors welded shut with ice, apparently I left it in accessory position instead of off. Brenda had already left for work and the other escape is 30 miles away with my daughter. Jump box is dead. Got the 8N to start so I pushed the escape out by hand because I pulled in and no way the cables would reach. I did get it to start, would of been a long cold ride to work on the tractor. After I got home I ran the tractor up & down the road since I know it didn’t get up to operating temperature this morning before I had to leave. And there’s no way I would of tolerated a 11 mile 14mph drive in that cold, I went down the road a mile & back and was froze. Now Im taking the key out of the ignition when I park the escape. Jump box is still charging over 12 hours later. think its toast. Its 25 right now. brrrr

35 has been the high and blowing snow all day. Nothing is sticking with the exception of a few metal roofs

We were about the same. Snow stuck to the grass but not to the gravel or pavement.

Oh, and the 2011 is plugged in since I have a parade to be in, in the morning. It's supposed to be in the 20's tonight. I want that engine to warm up as quick as it can in the morning. With it being this cold in November, One does wonder what January and February are going to be like....
