After tearing the reverse out of my BroncoStar's TK4 twice I put in a C5.
I'm not so sure the C5 is long in the tooth so at some point it will either need a major update rebuild or need a suitable replacement. So I'm just thinking out loud here.
Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
I'm thinking I can mate the TK4 bell housing and intermediate housing to the 70's Bronco 3 speed. I would need to re spline the output shaft and either run a different clutch or change the input shaft somehow. Plus it looks like the pilot bearing area would need some modification. Not to mention the side shift thing would need an aftermarket shifter.
This definitely wouldn't be the greatest tranny in the world but it would be the right length and be strong enough for a 4.0L being they came stock behind a 5.0L RB
