Tire shop won't put 235/75/15 GY Wranglers on my 90 Bronco II, ???

Watch the guys at walmart, they will break out atorque wrench and tighten the lugnutz to spec. Its hilariously stupid

Your lucky....... I've seen a lot of people get stripped threads or have wheels fall off.

Really, I think that's a good policy, you don't warp the wheels, break the studs, or undertighten. Sounds like a good wal-mart tire shop to me.

Dont know if this forum is too old but I have a wheel/tire question as well. I have an 88 Ranger 2wd with 14 in. wheels on it and i want to go to 15x7s. Whats the largest tire i can fit on there without it rubbing?

^^ that would depend on how much those 22 year old springs sag and whether or not you want to lift it or cut out the fenders. stock should be able to handle 235/75x15 tires if you want taller tires. don't forget to check all the wheel bearings, u-joints, shocks, etc. when going to a tire that could be a few inches taller than stock. i went form stock 195/75x15 to 215/85x16 tires with only a 2in body lift, but all the other things i mentioned were checked at the same time. and i would go to aluminum wheels just for the weight advantage. just my $.02.

My walmart makes you sign a liability waiver. Basically saying if anything goes wrong it's your fault. So they could mount them wrong and mess up your truck, and it's your fault.

I usually just go to the junk yard and get some used tires and take them and the rims into walmart to have them mounted. I usually get 2 tires that look near brand new for the cost of 1 at the tire store. Their prices are starting to get ridiculous to just mount and balance. The last time I took a pair in it was $27 for both. The first time I did it about 5 years ago it was only $10 for both. I have also had 235-75-15 on a 90 stock B2 with 0 rubbing.

My Bronco II had stock suspension and fit 30x9.50 R15's easy. No rubbing at all

a couple years ago i got hit with snow real bad and went to walmart for some cheep snow tires on my ranger. told me they wouldn't put them on because they were "bigger" (205-75-15 to a 215-75-15). went to the girlfriends house and got a floor jack, took the rears off in the parking lot and wheeled them in!

after a few minutes waiting the manager came in and had the tire guy give me my old rims/tires back, he said it was unsafe to have my truck in his lot like that, and he wont do business with me.

my local shop mentioned i had 225/70r15's and didnt know if my 235's would rub. i said **** it just do it. find a mom and pop shop. they do a beter job and are cheaper.

just put a old set of tires and rims on your truck if u got spares or drop it on blocks 4 a bit take ur old rims and tires in have them put tires on n everything then take them home and put them on ur truck its what im doin for the liberators at walmart beings there the only place i can get them with out buyin them online

yeah 235/75-15's was the stock tire on my 88 ranger
