Will 30 x 10.5 x 15 tires fit a stock 83 ranger with the 2.8

they are wider than the usual 30x9.5 tires most sell. also, being 2 wheel drive, you may have a tighter fit than the 4x4's. you may have some fender rubbing when turning. i'm assuming you'll be using aftermarket wheels with the wider tires, so getting the correct offset might help there. good luck with the tires and welcome to TRS!

What would you recommend a suspension or body lift kinda want to stay pretty close to stock

body lift will get you the clearance you need. it will also leave the suspension completely stock... no alignment, no new shocks, etc. will be needed. the ride will still be completely stock. if you do a 3 inch lift, you may need to use the steering extension and shifter extension if yours is an manual tranny. also with the 3 inch lift, you may also need to move the brake line brackets, but probably won't need extended brake lines.
it is by far the cheapest and also the easiest, imho. you and a buddy or two can do it in a day. the lift kits go for about $100 depending on whether you shop the online stores, ebay, craig's list, etc.
for another $50 or so, it would really pay to replace the body mount bushings at the same time. you're already right there and the improvement in ride and handling in a truck that old you will definitely notice. i know i did on mine!
good luck with your truck, and Welcome to TRS!
