tire fit

I have been to Homer a few times in my life. I like it there.

tire fit isue

Got the tires on this morning. I am going to need to lift the rear a bit. only about an inch or so clearance. :icon_confused:cant get pictures to upload they are too big and I dont know how to resize them. Will get one of my grandkids to do it for me later

Yeah but he is running a 2wd and that won't have enough space to fit them without a lift.

2wd 4wd dont matter they are only 235's. Im not sure if it was this post or one of the others, where I posted I ran 18x8 front with a 245 45 18 and 19x11 with 275 45 19 rear on my 92 2wd with no rubbing problems whatsoever. I had 235's on there before that. I also ran 235's on a 85 mustang 4 cyl with no rubbing probs. (don't ask why, they were there when I got it.)

I fooled around with the tires this afternoon and have decided I dont need a lift for the rear . The tires fit with enough clearance if they do rub it will be when I am bouncing over 12" high speed bumps at 90 MPH. I think they will be ok. Pics tomorrow. Grandkids are coming up .

well I was thinking more of the sidewall... a 235 could easily fit if the the side wall isn't gigantic, like a 235/85/16 is much bigger then a 235/75/15 almost 4" difference. and with a 2wd it sits really really low to the ground compared to a 4x4 so a 28" tall tire that fits just right under a 4x4 will be a very tight fit under a 2wd that sits almost 4" lower then the 4x4. width wise the 235 fits great with no rubbing the height is what I was pointing out. :icon_thumby:

And Yes I love homer, one of my favorite places to live IMO.

I had a 92 2wd that ran 235/75/15's just fine. Then I stuffed 19x11 out back and 18x8s up front with 245/45 and 275/45 respectively I only rubbed when I drove through the ditch in my front yard. Otherwise no rubbing.(correction I think I had a mild rub on my sway bar in the front)

look at table of tirerack or 1010tires.com for pneumatic tube then if to change you your diferentiel ratio definitely to put that you want after your size and space of your fender

Tire fit

I am going to install some stiffer shocks on the rear to help hold the bed steady. I eyeballed the clearance and if I hit a bump I can only bounce about
2" before I rub. Stiffer shocks will hold it I hope. If that wont do the trick I will add a leaf to the rear and that should hold it steay. The side walls wont rub then I hope. With the leaf added I should be able to bounce 4" or so . I only drive the truck in town and not very fast so I should be ok. My grandkids came for Christmas and told me hoe to reduce the size of my photos to attach. If they wont work I will try something else. Thanks agian for all your help. Earl Dagenhart Happy Holidays

Hip hip hurrah !!!!

ahhh, that explains alot, the only reason for the fitment issues is the rims u have, if u had stock aluminum or steel wheels they woulda fit with no rubbing anywhere

tire fitment

who would want stock wheels?

I understand . Not offended at all . Dont take it that way. I just dont want stock wheels on any thing I own. There are too many wheels out there to choose over stock. I am old school Ford man. In my day wheels were the first thing to change. Still sticking with that train of thought. I just didnt want to have to raise it up or install shackles to make it work. Stock wheels in my choosing is not an option.Where there is a will there is a way. Thats what I was looking for some solutions since I am new to rangers. But always have been and always will be a Ford Lover.
