tire blew up

was sittin inside the house the other day, heard a big bang like a gun shot or maybe something heavy falling. looked around couldnt find anything. so today i was diggin around in the back of the truck noticed there was a hole in my tire... the tire had a bubble in it.

just curious how many of you have ever had a tire randomly blow up like this?

The tire just randomly popped? Truck wasn't moving or anything? Dang thats good it wasn't while you were driving...umm...a tire on our trailer randomly came off once. Must've worked its way loose because the rim was messed up around the lugs and stuff

yup, happened on my bike, and on our minivan.... yeah, it sucks, we had a donut tire for about 3 weeks =P then got the tire repaired.

I could try to explain it like this: If you hold a balloon thats 1/2 way filled with water, and squeeze the center of the balloon, the water goes to the bottom, and the air goes to the top, too much pressure on top and POP!

happened to me recently. was an old old firestone tire, i noticed it bulging and the next day its flatter than an anorexic's chest. took it off and found a inch big hole it in. if u looked in my trucks pictures, u could see it bulge, its the passernger front

I had that happen to me while driving our old '87 K5 Blazer. My dad (who was riding shotgun) said I handeled it like a pro.

Yes it was scary as all f&@! but now I know how to deal with it if it ever happens again!

Actually happen to me Saturday, except it was the valve stem. Truck just sitting there while I started to try to mount my nerf bars and heard a hissing. Thought my radiator blew but there was no steam. Walked around the truck and felt air on my ankle. Valve stem just blew. Good thing was that I took it to NTB and before I could ask the cost and time to fix, they had the stem changed out and didn't charge me. Bad news I didn't have time to mount the nerf bars

My Dad was recently driving along the highway in a '98 Pontiac Bonneville and the dang front drivers side tire just pops off and flies thru the air!

Had to get a new Rim and tire....
