I just rebuilt my 2.3 and have the timing set and ready to drop back into my truck. The only problem is that there is a timing belt pully directly in front of my distributer that has a mark on it (as if it needs to line up somewhere) but theres nothing to line it up with. Should I forget it and just tune the distributer to get the timing right, or does someone know something about this?

This is the auxilary shaft gear. It has a mark because it is interchangeable with the camshaft, same gear. There is no mark to align it to.

With the camshaft and the crankshaft on their marks, turn the aux shaft until the distributor rotor is pointing to #1 sparkplug on the distributor cap. shady
