time to do a topend on my 2.8

oh is it ok to have the pcv valve connected to the t by the brake booster line or will it mess with the pcv system. my carb didnt have a spot on the base plate for it to hook up? might get a new pcv valve to see if it could be forcing oil past the rear main seal

I think your ok with that unless oil gets up into the brake booster I think the PCV is on the carb so the oil gets spread evenly to all the cylinders there might be plug fouling issues if it is only going to one or two cylinders. If the PCV is plugged you could be building pressure in the crankcase I dont imagine it affecting the oil pressure tho If anything the valve cover intake or timing cover and did you check the pan bolts are snug maybe it is a pan gasket leaking for sure get a new PCV and change it when you do tuneups. Also check your breather cap and is the breather tube to the filter connected and the breather filter clean

I used to clean the PCV valves but they arent very expensive and help alot with engine performance

Just thinking about it maybe you could put he PCV hose on the nipple coming out the back of the EGR spacer put a piece of vacuum hose on the nipple and then push the pcv tube over that and put a clamp on it. Just A thought

i used a peice of fuel line and hooked it to the multi port fitting had a port the same size as the booster vacuum just aimed down just cerious if it would screw with the pcv valve

No it will still pull the gasses out of the crankcase I`m not sure if it will affect the clyinder`s air fuel as it is a steady vacuum leak downstream of the carb to the cylinders closest to it

It`s like a leaky intake manifold can burn a valve or piston due to a lean condition especially at high speeds

You could pull the carb and add a nipple to the base if your careful, get a brass nipple with male threads and drill a hole the inside thread diameter and tap it the same thread size. kinna A pain but if it was mine I would do that. Any hardware store woud have the right nipple and you can always ream the nipple insid diameter it dont need to be real strong just be able to snug it good

Yea like I said the port on the back of the EGR spacer would be perfect it is larger do you have it plugged It is the one the vapor cannister used to be connected to on mine I just have a tube between it and the tree right now

update i finally took a long trip in the truck. aprox. 430 miles total and i got around 17 to 18 mpg combined city and hwy. project complete neted at least an extra 5 mpg, ntm alot more power

Kewl I keep forgetting to not touch the throttle when I start it when it is warm otherwise it starts first crank. Did you get the choke working I cant remember what carb you put on it. I still say yess when it fires right up cold and it don`t stumble when I get on it.
