Thunder & Lightning

We had a hell of an electric storm friday night/saturday morning. It's started little fires all over the surrounding hills.

It was pretty stunning. An East-Coast style line of thunderstorms went right over Monterey Bay, complete with small hail. This doesn't happen here.

But it's been INSANELY dry at ground level (my hygrometer was reading 2% in late afternoon Friday and Saturday), and obviously saturated at altitude (clouds). The convection must have been intense.

Many (not all) of the storms were dry, and caused something like 300 fires in the North and Central Coasts.

It so sucks living in the city. I grew up in the plains were thunder rumbles forever. But not here in the city seems like there are so many barriers that it never makes it to me. I really wish that there was a boeing plant in Iowa and the firedept, paid better. I would move back to my grandfathers place and buy him out, 10 acres up on a hill, 4 bedroom plus a in laws suit in the basement, 10 horse stable, and the best He took his machine shed paved and insulated and made is garage 140x60 plus a 40x60 attached shop heated and two lifts with a clean room for motor work. that place is great he is able to park 18. 66, and 67 dodge chargers side by side with room to open the doors down oneside of the garage. Really wish there was a way to make money back there, in the field me and the gf work in.
Sorry for the jump off the thread Woo hoo thunder and lighting are great.

No He has 18 in the garage. at one time he had 26 charger. For my grandparents 50th aniversery. They gave each of there 6 kids( my mom and my aunts and uncles) a 66 dodge charger ( the first new car bought as a family) so to get 8 good condtion chargers you have to get a lot af parts best way to do it was to by extra cars. but by no means are the ones in the garage junk they are pretty much complete chargers. alot of kinda rare one in the bunch. One my aunt got was a 318 with three on the tree and a/c just odd in so many ways. The only 426 in the bunch my grandfather made his car. Sadley my grand mother died 2yaers ago a month after the 61 anversery, And now my grandfather gave my mom that charger also. My mom takes my grandfather and grandmother when she was alive to the tucker convetion every summer. So maybe I will have a 383 four barrel in my stable at sometime.

I love lightning storms. Would always go outside while it was rolling in. The air got electrified and smelled like ozone and I swear it would make me feel like I was breathing in pure oxygen. Just felt pumped up and ready to go do anything. Awesome feeling.

i looked at a 67 on a used car lot in 78,it was in excellent condition.believe it had 383,with auto shifter console, and the fold down rear seat.did not have the $ at the time.

i've owned a 69 w/318-727 torqueflite and a 72 rallyeye in hemi-orange paint with 340 magnum-727 torqueflite.i got no complaints,awesome cars.moms 74 318 was a dog.
