I'm pretty sure my throwout bearing has finally seized. the transmission wont let my manual shifter to go into gear. Any thoughts? the only other thing I thought it might be is the clutch, but I haven't burned it. How much does it cost to replace? pain in the rear to do it yourself?

Umm, a seized release bearing won't do that.

Maybe a seized pilot bearing....

It's a lot of work to pull a transmission.

has anyone had this problem before? can't get the shifter into gear unless you very forcefully push it into gear. Ive heard from another that he had the same problem and it was his throwout bearing.
any thoughts? comments?

I had a similar problem with an 84 4x4 Ranger and TK-5 manual transmission, it gradually became harder to engage the gears until I really had to forcefully jam the shifter to get it in gear. My problem was the plastic bushings on the cast aluminum frame that the clutch pedal is attached to wore out allowing the steel rod to ovalize the round holes that the pedal was in. After getting a new aluminum pedal bracket from the junk yard the problem was fixed, but it is a bit of a hassle removing the old bracket.
