Thoughts on high volume oil pump

FYI, the last Melling pump I got must have slipped by quality control. The inside was fine but one of the flanges needed some file work to get the bolt head to sit flat. Take a close look before installation.

I was considering installing a bypass filter and figured installing a high volume pump would make sure it had enough flow for normal operation and the bypass. Also considering a non vented catch can on the pcv. rear chain guide was busted and hydraulic tensioner was stuck and wouldn't compress. Putting it in a press it squeezed out some sludge than would compress. Same with some of the valve dampeners. Went through bottom and slid in a timing set.
