I hate to hear about your ranger getting dented by a cart, I'm like you I always try to take care of my car, and usually some moron ends up dinging it or scratching it. I used to be a manager at a Wal-mart and you are right, if the carts are being neglected in the lot, they will pay to have your car repaired. I have had to make numerous claims of carts dinging cars, one time when it was windy, a cart took off a mirror of a grand am....
I felt so bad for these two guys, they came in the store in a nice F-150 4x4, brand new. They bought some paint, and the clerk that mixed the paint didn't get the lid put back on tight enough. So they put the paint behind the seat on the floorboard, they turn the corner of the parking lot and the can tips over and paint gets all over the inside of their truck. To make matters worse it was really windy that day too, so when they opened the passenger side door, paint went everywhere, all down the side of the bed, and on the wheel. It was horrible, we ended up having to buy them new clothes, new carpet, and pay to have all the paint removed from the outside of the truck....
