Thinking of Ordering a New Ranger

Unless I have missed something, it appears as if an FX4 with a manual is no longer going to be available either. I attempted to build an 08' FX4 online, and it made mention of that transmission option being of limited availability. Why are so many options vanishing?

I've seen 1 '08 Ranger Sport 4x4 with a manual trans. No other options. Everything else has been auto.

I heard thru the grapevine that Ford will be doing away with the manual transmission in a few years or so. Everything will be an automatic. GM is doing that as well, possibly as soon as '09. This is why I want to get one, before they quit making them.

We have a customers 2008 F-350 reg cab 6.4L PowerStroke with a 6-speed stick and manual t-case.

If they stop making manuals they are stupid.

manual is the way to go. I hope they dont get rid of it. I love my manual because when your offroading, you and the truck become one and you can feel everything the truck is doing. Its hard to describe unless you've done it yourself. You can feel any sliding, any tire spin, you can get in the torque phase of the motor and put it into gear and have a blast driving. I doubt I will ever choose an auto if I have the choice of choosing when the time comes
