alrite im thinkn bout takin the carpet out of my 99 ex cab bcause the guy who owned it before me was handicapped and drilled 4 holes all the way through the cab so he could move the seat back far enough for him to get in well enough bs. my whole carpet is now soaked after the rain and smells terrible so i wanna take it out and get bedliner for it how can i protect the wiring harness and all that junk and how would i get it up wen i eventually change out motors and harnesses thanks

When I did mine I just bedlined the floor with a hippo liner kit from NAPA. I got all the wires off the floor and the covered them all in loom after and put them back in the factory locations.

what is loom? did you cover the loom with bedliner or did you bedline the floor and then put your wires back down

The loom is the plastic that protects the wires, and he said that he moved the wiring out of the way to put the bed liner in and then placed the wiring back in the stock locations.

Yup, I put it back after bedlining it. That way if you have a wiring problem your wires aren't encased in bedliner.

You can buy a roll of the wire loom at most auto parts stores. I pulled my carpet out of my BII because of it being under water a couple of times. Going to bed line it sooner or later

Might get loud in there. My pickup has a steel factory headliner and is pretty loud. Sorta makes spending money on good sound system a waste. I'd put down some dynamat and a rubber mat.

Dyna mat is way more expensive then bedliner isnt it? Its a good idea, but expensive.

oh i new what that was duh i aint worried bout it bein loud i jst wanna get rid of the carpet. and i like the look and durability of bedliner thanks guys good info. sasquatch could i get a pic of your cab inside thanks

I would have to take one, and to do that I would have to first clean it out :icon_twisted:

I'll see what I can do.

i wanted to take out my carpet i think when i do ill diamond plate the floor
off subject just though you might like the idea

nice idea, but you still have to do the bed liner or something similar before the plate goes down. if you live anywhere where there is moisture, ie: spring rains, winter snow, etc. the moisture will cause rust to form between the floor and the diamond plate unless everything is coated very well. just a thought.

thanks for the though i was thinking spray on bed liner first then that but i live in Southern California but i hope i dont have to takr out my carpet for awhile its still mint
