Have a 1985 Ranger 4x4 STX noticed mostly on wide right turns i get a growling sound coming from under the floor and i can feel it on my feet (no carpet) i also feel a little bit of resistance, as in i feel it slow the truck down a tad. not as bad taking left turns but then again i cannot be on the passenger side to feel the floor when i am driving. Does not do it around town with slow turns mostly on ramps to freeways and such, also get a popping or grunting sound when i come to a quick complete stop and the front end unloads. Any suggestions on what to look at or for?

almost sounds like wheel bearings need attention, and i would check the condition of your radius arm bushing's (they tend togo) that sounds liek you popping wound while braking

how would i see if they need to be replaced besides the fact if there are none there haha? cracked, bulged, stuff like that? Do those aftermarket "performance" Bushing actually work?

You can get a good sized prybay anr pry against the radius arm and the crossmember to look for movement.

You can usually tell by looking at them if they are shot.
