UPDATE!

So, I haven't had time to change out the thermostat but I had fun locking myself out of my truck with the lights on... long story on how I got back into it.... I don't wanna talk about it... lol.

It's still lingering in the 20's here in Anchorage with ANOTHER FOOT of snow.. so far most of anchorage has about 7-8 feet of snow.

But as for driving my 2wd baby around I've been having fun drifting entire intersections. WEEEEEE!!!!! I'm AMAZED I haven't flipped my truck over a snowberm yet.

But once my engine gets up to temp, the rpms DROP STILL!! I don't understand. I took it to O'reillys to use their OBD1. KOER and KOEO tests reported "System Pass." so.... IDKWTF is going on.

obviously it's not electrical.... it's not the EGR.... Filled my tank and that has no effect whether it's full or 1/3 of a tank...

When I'm able to get the RPMs up high enough to get into 4th gear, its like a valve or something pops free and my RPMs go back up and the truck runs normally, untill I let it go back down to 2nd or 3rd gear the slugishness comes back.

I searched though the tech library, nothing seemed to ring any bells. I need experts. I am going to change the fuel filter when I can, hopefully SOON.

You can change parts and hopefully fix the issue but it sounds mechanical to me. If you get a pass on the codes and still have issues it is more than likely mechanical. Start from the beginning and be thorough. Does it pass a compression leakdown test and what are the readings on a vacuum guage. How well does the advance work do a curve and compare it to spec. Is the PCV new and working correct. Take a piece of vacuum hose about 3 feet long and search for vacuum and exhaust leaks. put one end in your ear and listen around all the gaskets and fittings/hoses. Be careful of moving parts and I believe you can still do the wiggle test with the code reader, set the computer into wiggle test and go through and tap and wiggle all the connectors and smog components when you find a fault it will give you a code. To enter the KOEO continuous monitor test turn the ignition on and activate the test, wait ten seconds and then deactivate and activate the test then do the wiggle test. To enter the KOER wiggle test start the engine and run at 2000 rpm for two minutes turn the engine off for ten seconds then start it activate the test and wait another ten seconds then deactivate and activate and do the wiggle test.

I have nothing against blondes, I just don't like being called one. My hair gets to be strawberry blonde in the summer and auburn in the winter, and I usually dye it a purple/auburn color in the summer. I have so much pride in my red hair because growing up I got mind ****ed by everyone going crazy over my red hair... "oh wow you're a redhead" "wow, is that natural" yeah......... I got mind ****ed. lol

BTW... truck is still being a retard POS... debating whether I should just craigslist it as a parts truck and get a F150 like my boyfriend keeps telling me to.

My mom is a redhead (strawberry blonde). I love it. I got some of that in my beard (brown/light red).

Good plan, I did the same and usually at least one is behaving at any given time.

The Ranger always has been a bit of a problem child though.

I don't have the money to get both, nor do I have any credit to get a loan of any kind. I've already been turned down 6 times for loans and credit cards. It's stupid. but hopefully by march I'll have the money to buy a new truck and maybe keep my ranger. But I have no place to put my ranger....... Not having my own place kind of puts a hold on things.
