The_Dealers Build Thread

The part u can't see is all scratched and wierd looking lol. Maybe I can get around to painting it one of these days. I have the tach zip tied on til I figured out where I like it. Its staying where it is in the pic so ill break out the drill tomorrow. Gotta mount my pillar guages tomorrow too.

I gotta get a pillar pod.. Wanna put my oil pressure guage and a battery one up there at least.. I have the factory tach so I got lucky there

How are you doing the pillar gauges? The ricer's pod? Universal??

ah... ok. i'm not to fond of that way...its clean, but not what i'm looking for, i want the ones like the diesels!

Here's a dirty updated pic. Been working on trying to get the front centercaps drilled the put on. Gonna rpaint the wheels soon.

4" skyjacker coils, 3" tapered block and aal's

Also put on the hood channel cb antenna mount and pillar guages

looks awesome. Mechanical or electric?

I wanted to do it the same way as a diesel(even bought a universal one to build) but it just didnt turn out right.

Again good job:icon_thumby:

Electrical, I like mech, but the tubing scares me, and I just like the electricals ability to do a clean install, plus if the motor needs to be removed it will be a lot easier to unhook. And thanks for the idea! I will be getting one more guage as well, a vac guage or wideband o2

Yeah I wish i would have got electric too. (ones before vac and volt) I have my temp in the same spot as your oil and with only 6feet i barely reached and it broke while driving. So i had no other choice but to put it under the dash.

plus the only other temp gauge that they have to match is mechanical. but i was really going for the cheapest and reliable like autometer more than looks. (and not really thinking about it to much)

Well I spent all day taking off the intake manifold and cleaning it. Also boogered up the gaskety when I put the ported heads on. Don't know how I didn't notice some of the ports clogged on the intake when I had it out before. Fixed some of the stripped valve cover bolts and got a set of mr gasket carb studs. And those washer things. The spacer I had was about 1/2" smaller diameter ports and restricted flow. So I got the right spacer, maybe I can get a little more power. I got 19.16 mpgs on the last tank too!

Gotta get a drop pitman arm and maybe some bigger pivot drops. But I'm having camber issues and I think its from the steep steering angles.

Well I found out that both of my tag lights were out, so some looking around at work I found some led super white bulbs that nobody knew what they were for. So I put those in. Kinda a bad pic, but these things are bright. They look kinda blue in the pic but they are bright white

Also going to get the drop pitman arm tomorrow, and after work I'm going wheeling, so I should have some good pics up

Also ordered some led bulbs for the dome and cargo light. She's running great right now and it seems I got my carb and timing dialed in. Now I just have a lot of little things to work on. These 55-60 hour work weeks are killing me. And it was down to, work on the rig, or wheel the damn thing. Yall know what I chose. The gear is loaded, and the cooler stocked. :headbang:

led's just don't show up good in pictures..idk why..

Well the wheeling trip got postponed. Too wet from all that rain made most of the trails impassable:sad:

that sucks.. i need a wheeling trip..

The tires I have a pretty aggressive, but bigger ones are in the plans.

Upcomming mods are:
D35, 8.8, lockers,2" body lift, and 35"s, 5.13 gears.

Well I got the drop pitman arm on, the steering isn't perfectly horizontal but close enough. A skyjacker fa600 was reccomended to me but I'm going stonecrusher on the d35 so I couldn't justify spending 200 bux on a pitman arm. I got the pro comp fd400.

Since the wheeling trip was canceled, I did some work to her. I had to replace an outer tre that fell apart when I did the pitman arm. I am in the process of modding and bacing my pivot drops. Also pulling the shafts to tighten up my lbj's that I loosened to do the camber bushing. Never could get them tight. Also working on a hand throttle. I hope to have all this stuff done by this comming up weekend.

What's the easiest way to take out the passenger pivot drop? Remove the whole beam and radius arm?r
