I'll likely be keeping the 2.9 for a while, but go up to a 4.0 only. Less power+low gearing = no breaky!

I have to agree. I chose a 4.0 over a 5.0 to keep from having to swap my entire drivetrain.

Have a 347 sittin in my shop, but for now the 2.8 is fine for what I do, and it runs pretty good. I have a guy at the machine shop that owes me the headwork, so really I'm just buying the cam and gasket set. So not spending much money on it. Gonna put a new oil pump in it. I figured ill run her till she blows. Or buy the swap parts next tax time lolm I'm putting the 2150in with the hopes of a few better mpgs. Since we got a family car now, I'm thinkn of a clean choptop and cage. What yall think? I'm trying to make a nice budget wheeler that can still be driven to work on monday, then beat on during the weekends. Once I get everything where its working good ill mess with a sas and start all over lol

for the shit we do a 4.0 is fine, hell my motor is pretty stock and ive never got into a problem where more hp would do me any good

Well today brought a lot of stuff for the rig. The roof rack come in and the extra set of heads ported and polished with 2.9 valves got done, as did the cam, and the gaskets. Got everything together and wow, the 2.8 has a little balls to it now. Still waiting on a lot of other parts to come in. Left the camera at the gf's folks house but will have some pics tomorrow! Got a lot of northface and mountain hardware camping things today as well. Can't wait for a wheeling trip

Here's a few pics from first thing this morning. Didn't like how high up the surco mounts made it sit so I got some 1/2" nylon spacers and some bolts from lowes and just drilled the crossbars and mounted it like that. Still waiting on some more goodies to come in, and my brake boioster should be here today so I can tune the carb, major vacuum leak. Also gotta install my guages like chriswillkins did, and I got a small tach to put i.n. Planning on tinting the windows next week

Haha who says you can't have a car seat in your rig and still look cool?!

That seat is rad. I will have to get one.......once I have kids

The thing says it can withstand a 120 mph crash, and I'm thinkn first off if my rig could go that fast it would cropdust the interstate with parts. And 2nd off, who the fawk would go that fast with kids in the car.

Says its for 20ish to 120ish lb kid. I'm thinkn dam I can almost ride in that thing lol

Btw just ordered a hood channel cb mount off ebay

Well I got the brake booster on and the carb tuned and she's runnin awesome

Well my rest of the stuff I ordered from summit came todays. Shocks, coils, oil press guage, guage pods,hi lift, and hi lift mount for the roof rack, and drop pitman arm. Gonna start installing stuff tomorrowand gonna try to have everything in by the weekend. In a pile it looks like a lot of parts and the guages and tach are gonna take a while, I'm gonna run the wires real clean and neat. Still gotta pick up a fire extinguisher and battery tie down for my offroad club. Any input from yall 1st and 2nd gen guys and a battery hold down? The p.o. Did the bungee cord mod, which isn't legal for my 4x clubs trails

battery tie down? that's easy. threaded bar on both sides, flat bar across the top, nuts on top of flat bar.
bottom of the threaded bar is thru the battery tray.

I need the lower part of your dash please! The metal... Mine is drilled up from where my dad had so many different cb's and linears in there..
