Actually, were on time. Just because the past.. ungodly amount of posts were on last doesn't mean I cant choose a different word.

Okay, the rules are simple, I'll start by posting a Song, and the next song posted must contain one complete word from the last song posted, it can be in the band name or the song title.

Now lets stop jacking and killing this long and quite well known and established thread.

About a thousand posts ago, a bunch of people (more than one) decided to modify the rules and stick with one word to make it interesting. We know what the original rules are and that got boring (as indicated by the decline in posts)...hence the change...and the posts increased considerably...

It's a game...if you want to change the rules the least you could do is consult with others who have been involved for a long time instead of busting in and making it look like we're wasting our time and going nowhere...

It is actually more interesting using one word only and exhausting that word then moving to a different word...Even the OP (Shoeboy) has joined in with the new format so I'd say that is an indication that the change was OK...

We were on LAST...and if you want to change the word it would be considered more polite to get a consensus instead of insisting that we now go back to the original format just because you read the rules but didn't read the post(s) where the change was agreed upon...

I was in this 1000 posts ago, that wasn't the way it was.

Show me the posts where this rule change was stated and I'll start abiding by YOUR rules.
Otherwise, I'll post anything that goes along with the words in the song.

The only rule change I have found by searching the past 20 pages, and these are the maximum sized pages, was one by AllanD stating that repeating the same Band/Artist is cheating. I agree with this.

Oh, and did I mention that I'm severely OCD?

And speaking of said jumble above: all the arguements about the "rules" have become almost enough to make me lose interest in what was my favorite thread for the last one or two thousand posts.

Maybe some of the people used songs that didn't have the 'approved' word because they couldn't think of one; I don't think that should mean their entry is stricken. If you feel the need to ride a particular word into the ground, go with what I suggested ages ago, and take advantage of the extra challenge of getting it back on your 'word' and still using something from the other person's.

Frankly, the arguements about rules are getting old. Just have fun!
