The NEW 2009/2010 Ford Ranger

I would like to see Ford and pull their head out of their ass. The Ranger is best thing I have ever driven and will ever drive. The problem is their is no big differance in price from the Ranger to the F-150. People look at it as, why by a little truck when I can have a big one for a couple g's more. If Ford should do anything it is redesing the Ranger. Big plat form, more interiour hell do something!

If a small truck almost costs the same as the F-150 and gets similar milage, making it even bigger won't help the problem.

A new Bronco with 2 SOLID AXLES ???? OMFG !!! I hope it's true.............

i know eh? i'll defiantly be getting one if they come out, but i've been watching the bronco concept since 2004 so i'm not holding my breath

Not sure how much truth is in this but interesting if it is...

who the hell said the ranger HAD to move up to a midsize? just cuz the tacoma and frontier did doesn't mean the ranger has to. just like everyone is saying, if you pay a little more attention to this little truck, maybe more people would buy it. who's going to be motivated to get the latest ford ranger model if it's the same as the previous one.

i'm a diehard ford guy (even though i drive a mazda it still has ford motor company stamped on all the parts) but sometimes it's hard. the only reason i haven't considered buying another company's compact truck is cuz...THEY DON'T EXIST. i don't need room for 5 people... if i did i wouldn't buy a ranger. just room for me a passenger and my stuff.

"Internally, there was never an official release that the Ranger would be discontinued, but there were definately rumors. Then a funny thing happened. People started buying Rangers."

Just a rumor.

Ford isn't making the Ranger a mid-size, according to the article. They're killing the Ranger for a few years and bringing it back as a global vehicle, which will be the same size or maybe a bit smaller than the current Ranger. In the meantime, they're also building the mid-size F100, which is totally different from the Ranger.

The rumors are true about the deisel engines, I know a salesperson who quoted on the jobs for building equipment to produce the smaller deisel engines that are slated for production. One is for the f-150 and one is for the ranger. I don't know much more than that... but i do know it is going to happen in the near future.

If my ranger was paid for i would buy a brand new one but im still paying on mine :annoyed:

I can get a brand new 09 ranger sport 2wd for under 20gs ( and no i dont mean 19,999) 19,780 for a brand new 09 ranger sport.

To even think of getting rid of the ranger is a stupid idea, and next in line is a unibody like come on everything that has went unibody has become a soccer mom mobeil. I had a pathfinder a 94 those frames sucked but at least you could repair them. Then 95 96 rolled around and the unibody was introduced, now look at the pathfinder. I wouldent take that thing on a dirt road let alone a trail.

Jeep cherokee, same thing went unibody now look at them.

Keep the ranger as is, invest in making it more MPG friendly and your set.

they aren't getting rid of the ranger till at least '11

The F-100station.com? pfft! That just doesn't sound right... according to Petersons 4wheel&offroad, the Ford Ranger will be production untill the end of 2010. Says in, uh last months(?) issue there will be no 2011... Don't know exactly how accurate but they usually aren't too far off. I was hopin to see a diesel version (in Canada/US) before they killed of the Ranger!!! Dissapointing...
*and, unibodies can kiss my ass they are lame
