used a cutting torch to blow out 2 studs on a chevy caviler once.. very hard to do and although i saved the wheel in all likely hood wheel would be damaged and not useable...

I've seen this done w/o significantly damaging the rim by coating the bore with MIG Nozzle dip:

Granted the last step was done with a plasma cutter but it could also work with a torch.
