The Lone Ranger – Kage’s ’94 X-Cab Leaf SAS and Bed Bob

They were radials, I ran them for eight months or so and still had about 1/2 tread. I bought them with about 80% or so tread, DD'd it the entire time I ran the irons, put about 15-20k miles on them...

They are expensive but I would take a look at pitbull for tires. As far as radials that are road worth the Maddog's are pretty unbeatable IMO. Got a buddy running them on his 4 door JK and they air down and bite like no other. 4 door JK is about the same length width etc as our trucks. The only downside the the Maddogs is they are only available in a 38.5" tire so you would have to step up in size. They have the Rockers in a ton of sizes radial, but they might be a little to much tire for the street. I plan on the Maddog's when I blow through my bias TSL's.

I didn't get to many photo's of him on that trip but the tires flexed a lot more than these show. Also take a look at the Interco TrXus MT's.

Thanks for the replys folks! The pitbull tires were something I hadn't considered before, I may have to look a little more into those (looks like they're made near my hometown as well).

I know I'm getting some serious sticker shock on the price of tires though!

Well my luck struck again…

I’ve been DD’ing the truck while I looked for another DD since I sold my other DD last week (if that makes sense). The truck had been pretty happy until I left for work today. About a block from work (thankfully before I got on the interstate) there was a series of ‘pops’ similar to the same type of pops we had when we last broke down. This time though, as I pulled into a parking lot, everything locked up solid. The tranny is locked into 1st gear as it sits, so I’m suspecting something died in there. I won’t know for sure until I can borrow a bobcat to push it into the garage to see what really went wrong.

Just a friendly FYI, AAA wants you to have a “Recreational Vehicle” endorsement for vehicles with over a 2” lift kit before they tow your truck. Thankfully, this driver was a fellow wheeler and towed my junk anyway so at least I had a little good luck left.

The wife is telling me that this truck needs to go, I’m starting to agree with her so if you want a deal on this let me know.….

Damn that sucks...I feel like the bad luck's cause of me this time...

LMK if you want to part out the wheels and tires...Sorry for the bad luck I really like this truck.

That's what I was going to ask about

Sucks to hear man, set it out of sight for a week or two until you cool down, if your anything like me your brain will be turning gears again soon.

Nah, while it looks like the tranny may have died, I won't know until I get into it. Even if it did die, its not like we didn't know the case was somewhat boogered up.

Plus My luck just sucks anway :icon_rofl: so no worries.

Funny you whould mention that. Once I get something else to DD, I was planning on putting the wheels/tires up for sale as I think want to rock something differnt (either some MTR's or go back to the Nittos). This puts a little kink in things though.

To be honest, I'm not nearly as pissed as I would have expected. A good friend loaned me his TJ to drive until I can come up with another DD or get the truck fixed, so I do have a little breathing room which helps immensly. The biggest bummer is that I was hoping to make it down to SMORR froze over and that's looking pretty unlikely at this time.

I'd stick it off in the corner some where, but I don't have anywhere hide it (I live in the suburbs :icon_twisted:). And since its suppose to be my DD I need to get it rolling again quickly.

All I really want is the rims. I would rather like a set of beadlocks :yahoo:

Hmm, I'd like just the tires...lol I can go back to the jy and see if the 94 was a manual, if it was I'd be happy to pull the tranny for ya :icon-thumby:

If he was closer I know of dozens that are near me.

If he is willing to split some stuff up...

Dang, I was hoping to never have to break all that stuff apart, but I would be willing to do so. It just depends on how fast you two would want the stuff as I still need the truck mobile until I get another DD. So I would hope that I can find something fairly quick like :icon_twisted:

Hold off on that '94 Rick, as supposedly there's a cople in the junk yard close to me. I'll run out there Saturday to try to find one, but seeing as I won't know what died for sure until Friday night, I'm not entriely certain it'll be the tranny (fairly sure though).

Yup, first I've ever heard of it as well. I think I'll keep rolling the dice as the worst case is I'll just call AAA on the spot and add the extra package. Its not like they would be sending out a different truck anyway :icon_twisted:

Sounds good B, as for the tires, I'm not in a rush for them...

CDAwall, pm me if your serious about getting those runs, though it won't be til the first if the month if that soon, providing Ben has another set or another DD...
