The autumn years of the ICE should be the golden years for the ICE.

Then how the hell does just the F150 outsell every other vehicle?

There are a bunch of different vehicles sold? Being the highest selling vehicle doesn't mean that they sell 50% or more. They sell around 800k F series (F150-F450) each year. If you actually check the numbers, GM's trucks often out number Ford's. They just choose not to combine the Sierra and Silverado for some reason.

Oh and @fastpakr .....

Because you think all i do is spew random numbers...heres the survey i read. My numbers were a *bit* off but still damn close...

From Oct of 21. So pretty recent. But i know it wont matter i posted it cause it never does

F*rd doesn't even sell vehicles anymore.

You think that's a truck you're driving?

It's really 16 ferrets and a badger duct taped together and covered in bondo.
So fords bein copying early 90s GMs?

I believed you.

I’d bet those numbers are higher than they really are. When the time comes to get a cat, I bet a significant majority would rule out an EV after not too much consideration.

Edit: danget… forgot the quote. This was to Rusty’s article link

EMP(Electromagnetic Pulse) strikes disabling car computers is a Myth, the studies done on this placed it at MAYBE 1 in 50, and it depended on the wiring and materials in the vehicles, assuming all vehicles were same distance from EMP
It wouldn't effect any vehicle computer that were farther away, running or not

EMPs can disable power grids because they are exposed, and can act as giant antennas to send EMP to homes and offices
These act similar to lightning strikes, so unplug it and its safer

There were a few companies trying to get police a way to stop a vehicle via an RF pulse, not sure if any got them to work
Might be able to overload the coil, which would work on any spark plug engine regardless of year
I know attacking the electronics is the popular theory, but more suited to handheald and home/office electrionics, vehicle electronics is much simpler and surrounded by metal, a Faraday cage

Quit ruining my statements... lol

So you're one of the cases where it's not a good fit. But you're rapidly becoming the exception. And there's nothing wrong with that - let's be clear, I'm not in the market for a new vehicle any time soon so there's no electric car or truck coming to my driveway for a long while. If I were, an electric would certainly fit my needs. We'd keep one car gas for road trips, and the other could easily cover my needs as an electric. My longest commuting days are about 150 miles. I've still got the Ranger for times that I need the pickup utility or for off road.

It is easy to say that but where I am I am the norm.

It's sixty miles to Omaha. One twenty to des Moines. One eighty to Kansas city.

I am not the only person who lives in a rural environment.

Thanks for providing a supporting source! Lots of surveys like this exist, and they often have results that are different enough to make it hard to gauge what's real. Here are some similar polls from the last 12 months:

These all indicate somewhere between 20 and 70% of Americans expect to own an EV. The only consistent trend in these types of poll data seems to be interest in EVs is increasing. But again the data for how much interest might be increasing is all over the map too.

2 out of 3 of those are from EV/Green oreinted sites. CR is notoriously biased toward anything "new".

Awful lot of "nevers" in that column.

Every time I graphs I always wonder how many people where asked, from, career, etc. You can always make charts in your favor because of specifics.
