Hey guys, just wanted to do the noob thing and introduce myself before I go off on and start post whoring everything that has to do with 2002 2WD XLT's. That's obviously what I drive. It's, slow, gutless, automatic, and quirky. I'm sure you can all imagine what a stock Black 2002 Ford Ranger looks like so I'll post a few pics of my former toys. These will probably explain why I hate driving this truck, which leads to my next point. I hate driving vehicles that blend in or have no "fun factor". As of right now, this truck is just an A-B'r list of simple plans...

  • 3" body lift
  • black 15" pro comps
  • 31x10.5x15 tires
  • HID's
  • Speakers.
after that I'll be done.

Gonna keep it a DD (no hardcore off roading for this 2wd'r).
Ohh yeah, I'm from Phoenix, AZ and I'm on quite a few local car enthusiast forums.

Anyways on to my past loves (yes I'm an import guy).

Import guy eh?

I hope you fall in love with the reliability of a domestic vehicle! I'll go out and say it, Rangers aren't the most perfect trucks out there, but there is something about them that makes you like them. Sure as hell would rather be driving a Ranger over a Honda Civic (no offense). Here in College Station, you'd get laughed at if you showed up with a Ricer Honda!

Anywho, hope you enjoy your Ranger and welcome to TRS!

I hope I do too. I can not say that any of those cars were truly reliable but, they were fun as hell! I miss the integra the most. Thing was so fun to drive and gripped the road so well.
Anyways, as for the truck, I'll throw some pictures up when I get it washed. Nothing special right now. I've been poking around my local craigslist to see if i can find any deals on used wheel/tires before I just buy some new ones, hopefully something comes along.
Ohh one more thing, are basic bolt on mods worth a damn on these 2.3l's? Simple stuff like a K&N, slightly larger exhaust? I know the truck will never be anywhere close to fast but I could certainly use the extra throttle response.

and finally, thanks for the welcome!

wow, great little tid bit of information there. Thanks! Just FYI, I was thinking more along the lines of a drop in filter, but either way. Once I get the wheels/tires and lift I think I'm going to do a couple of those mods just to free up a little torque.
One thing I'm coming to love about these Rangers is the fact that they are so cheap to modify.
