tdi bronco 2

OK.

I don't drive much anymore. I used to rack up 12 to 15,000 a year when I live near Harrisburg. Last year I drove my truck almost every day and barely put 5,000 on it.

I do 18k a year just for work. And u said u did live in Harrisburg where r u now ?

Its a large initial investment as far as time and money. A lot of people dont have either.
It does take a bit of research to know what you are doing electronics-wise but for the most part these swaps aren't much different.

Your best bet for finding a cheap tdi is finding one that is in a wreck or has had the timing belt go on it. The first is your cheapest bet by far but the second is not that far behind it. Neither are going to approach the cost of a 4.0 or 5.0 swap but you do have the opportunity to recover some of the initial purchase price by selling off parts of the car. For instance, if you pull all the manual transmission parts out of your donor car (transmission, axles, clutch pedal, clutch master, clutch slave, clutch line, cruise control switches, etc) you can sell this kit for $1500 to somebody with a pooched vw automatic which is just about anyone with a vw auto after after 150k miles. That's exactly what I did with the Beetle I yanked my tdi out of and it paid for the majority of the car's purchase price. :D

Now the tdi with a bad timing belt is going to require about $1k in parts to get up and running again but the trans kit still applies so include that in your budget.

I got $2500 ish in parts so far and. It even done :D but its fun
