I'm putting in a M50D to replace my 146, its out of a explorer that has push button 4x4, my b2 has manual transfer , can I still use the floor plate from the explorer?

The M5od and the FM146 use different T-case shifters. Not only will either floor plate need to be modified, but you will also need the M5OD/A4LD t-case shifter. (The shift arm on the case may be different too.)

I have a A4LD shifter in my M5OD for my t-case took a little tweaking but works probably easier to find if there isn't a M5OD one around.

Shouldnt of took any tweaking, both trannys are the same length. I'm using and A4ld shift bracket on my M5OD. It works fine.

So I'm going to need linkage off a auto or a M50D, and just use the shifter boot off my 146?

By that logic the FM146 shifter should work on the M5OD, but as stated, it does not.

Ok boys, I went to the pick and pay yesterday to get new linkage, I found a 93 ranger with a M5OD and a manual transfer case, after looking close all I needed was the floor pan and boots, the linkage was the same as mine, its all back together and no more noise! Thank god

When I done the 4.0 swap in mine the stock fm146 transfer shifter bolted up perfect on the m5od. Not sure why it has been said that it don't work.
