Tallest tires????

have a 94 ranger extended cab with a 4.0L a 6" skyjacker class 1 kit factory coil spacers and a 3" body lift what are the biggest tires i could fit on with no fender trimming and no rubbing radius arms in full turns. would 37x12.5's be too mush and what width and backspace wheels should i put them on???

37s would be too big to safely run on those axles.

Im not sure 37s would fit either. 35s would be about right Im thinkin...

35's was the largest I ran at that time (same lift & body lift as you have) & I still had to trim the stock front fenders just a tad, about an inch angle cut at the rear, bottom of the wheel opening. If you're not opposed to a bunch of trimming, you can fit 37's but it sounds like you don't want to do that. The SJ 6" lift only gives about 4.5" to 5.0" inches on an Xcab.

About the only way it won't rub the radius arms is to use 8" wide wheels, the 10" wide wheels with a 12.50" tire will rub the radius arms. Not a big deal, mine's been doing it for 7 years now & never hurt the tires.

The 8" wheel would actually be more likely to rub on the radius arm, as it doesn't stick the tire out as far as the 10. The 10 will be more likely to rub on the fender however.

I would run the 8s. As Thumper mentions, rubbing on the RA is harmless (unless you got Boggers or something where the huge tread blocks can "lock into" the radius arm, which can easily cause axleshaft breakage). The lesser offset of most 8s is also much easier on your front wheelbearings as well.

35s are generally considered the safe upper limit for these axles (particularly on Supercab trucks). If you play gently though (and do the upgrades linked in the sticky post in the Axles section), 37s can be run on them without too much issue.
