Tailgate Replacement

I wanna get rid of my old tailgate. it has some cracks in it and it needs to be painted. i wanna get one that has the option to open the back window instead of whole back gate. my sister had an 86 that did this. i dont see why it wouldnt work, but i just wanted to make sure.

Very few BIIs came with those style hatchs, you'd have to go looking for one. FYI, the ones with opening glass did not come with wipers or defrosters...

My one 89 had a hatch with some cracks in it, I just widened them a lil an patched it with new fiberglass and reinforced what I could on the inside with fiberglass. I had another hatch in better shape at the time but didn't want to go through the trouble of swapping out and having to repaint the hatch (I was planning to sell the truck, wish I wouldn't have done that...)

damn, i knew i shouldnt have let my dad sell my sisters BII. it had manual hubs and a manual t-case. not to mention i'd have spare axles, d-shafts, engine parts and an auto-tranny

i dont care about the defroster or wiper....i can get by without them

if there's anyone near raleigh that knows of one or has one, i may take it off your hands

I'm not exactly near there but I might be taking a trip down through that area come January if things proceed relatively close to what I'd like them to... (heading to Georgia or Texas for a 2-week vacation).

I'll take a peek around the junkyards around here, unfortunately they've cleared out a lot of their BIIs and older Rangers as of late, which leaves me scrounging for parts sometimes. I have a hatch with the glass that opens, but it's on my 86 and I'm not sure I want to part with it, lol.
