Hey guys, it's Becca. I am currently thinking of doing a tailgate bench for one of my classes I am currently taking called Motorsports Fabrication. I have a dented and bent tailgate from my sister's '88 Ranger along with a few other bits and pieces left over from her wreck. I have a good idea of what I want to do but a few more ideas would help. Does anybody have any pics or descriptions they'd like to share?

not sure what you mean. are you building a bench out of a tailgate to put on a truck for seating? or are you going to use it as a workbench? or like a park bench? indoor/outdoor?
sorry don't mean to ramble just curious!

Like a park bench? I have seen them and have pondered making one for my front porch myself.

My thought was to have one tailgate sitting flat like it was open on the truck. Pretty side down like how you would sit on an open tailgate. Then have another one with the pretty side out for a backrest. One without the aluminum trim peice would be best for that.

More like a park bench.

Well you could always put a bench in the back of your truck and pull it out when needed. Lol

I could do that, but I'm going to try for a bench that goes on the ground first. That in itself is giving me head hurt enough.

That would be neat with a cushion from an outdoor couch for the bottom..Bill
