Hey all. so I ditched the bed of my truck and am adding LED tail lights and neglected to remember that a '97 ranger has separate turn signals and does not run the brake and turns on the same circuit soooo i'm wondering how to wire them so they are? I'm sure its probably something simple I am just having one of those days I think.

You need a five wire to four wire module. they make them for adding trailer wiring and can be found at walmart for about ten bucks.

Chg the Backup Bulbs to 27w amber and make them the directionals and add some KC Backup Lights.

I did that on my ’03, my truck only had the brake/directionals/run and backup lights, changed things up and added the Cargo Light Directional Mod too !

Chg’d the Brake/Dir/Run to Brake/Run only, chg’d the Backup to Directionals and added new Backup Lights (pending - got’um but not installed)

if ur truck has the trailer lights connector under the bumper, u can take new signal wires from there.

yellow and green wire are each side's stop/turn signals.
i did that on mine and works fine since day 1

Why not just use amber LEDs?
I find amber blinkers are MUCH more immediately noticeable than red blinkers.

Otherwise, like said, a trailer harness connector would give you the 4-wire config.
