Tablets

This is the link that I used for the google apps:

http://www.the-digital-reader.com/2...der-etc-on-the-7-kindle-fire-hd/#.UudDl7ROmkk

another link with some of the same stuff as above, but a bit easier to understand:
http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/ipad-and-...-the-kindle-fire-hd-without-rooting-50010417/

One thing to note on the gmail app: disable notifications or it will cause the kindle to have issues. the pull down task bar will crash and cause the kindle to be a tad unstable until you reboot it. Once I disabled the notifications, that problem went away.

the above is a pretty good source for putting just about any google play app on your kindle. I have not tried this method yet, but I think I will. I will let you know how it works out :)

Thanks for the info! I'll give it a try tonight when I get home. I'm using whatever came with my kindle fire (non HD), no mods done to it.

I missed out on the HP Tablet "fire sale", but a friend who managed to get one who also owned a Blackberry Playbook tablet had nothing but nice things to say about the Playbook, so when someone had a similar "Fire Sale" on 64gb (WiFi only) Playbooks
for $129 I grabbed one and told my friend about it...

He already had one, yet bought two more!

I use the thing as a replacement for my old Fujitsu Tablet (which ran XP on a 120gb HDD)
as essentially a portable media player.

Going from a stylus screen to a true touch screen is "nice"

If I came across another similar deal (or a deal on one of the 32gb phone/broadband units) I'd buy it in a heartbeat
