T5 Shifter Question

I am changing my 2000 2wd Ranger from a 3.0 automatic to a 302 5 speed - the T5 I bought is a World Class unit out of an 86 Mustang - my question is, if I find a Ranger T5 shifter, will it bolt up to the world class Mustang unit? Thanks

you can make a remote shifter as it does sit back in a ranger.

american powertrain sells quite a bit of stuff for the tremec t5.

and several of the aftermarket short throw units can have the stick inverted to get it close. some are fairly cheap too...like under 100 bux.

i looked at this and a few other units as we may put the 351 in my sons 350 Z and run a t5 to get going... if he liked it then he would have to save for a t56.... since that particular 351 makes alot of power.

I'm not a Ranger guy either so maybe I am referring to the 5 speeds in a Ranger by the wrong name - I inherited this truck from my Grandson after he took out the 3.0 at 50mph in a cloud of steam - I see Ranger shifters in trucks that are being parted out and they are the correct ones for the truck but if they are not compatible, then they are not - I learn something new every day

the 2000 will be a mazda m5odr1 if it is stock. they are a fixed bell unit so...not worth using.

the t5 you will want to adapt a miata style slave to and either live with the shifter location or look around at the options. there are plenty and they are not overly costly so you should be in good shape to get where you want to go. the one that walt posted might just be perfect.

wilwood makes pretty cost effective stuff to get the clutch going as well.

i think hurst and core shifters make stuff for the t5 too.

well, i know hurst does as i was looking at it and thinking it would have been great on my son's s10 that had a t5.
