My credo
Crossed threads are tight threads.
I was in the O'Reillys yesterday a few miles from home. Went to use my rewards coupon in my text messages and it would not open. Tried going through email, no service. I looked at the signal and had full bars 5G-UC. My phone was acting as if I had no signal.

Looked up this 5G-UC, which apparently stands for "ultra capacity", but is really no capacity...cant call, text or email.

Apparently it is a common issue, and there are some complicated fixes that are not 100% solutions.

I remember time when my cell phone just worked, it seems technology has peaked and is now going bass ackwards.

Anyways, is anyone else having problems with cell phone network service, or just phone function in general?

Im on the latest samsung, I think S22. T Mobile is the carrier.

Oreillys hooked me up with a discount BTW.

i noticed some dead times lately on my samsung running on tmo too. i just thought it was some random thing but maybe its the same thing you are talking about.

i never really had trouble on my other phones till this galaxy s20

Supposedly you can shut off the 5G. It might be worth a try to see if it can be done and/or it makes a difference. I don’t have a 5G phone. So all I can do is mention what I’ve seen from others.

I’ve heard good and bad things about T Mobile as far as service goes. That may be a regional thing. My cell phone carrier uses T Mobile and I’ve never noticed a problem.

Next time it happens check and see if the signal is on 5G UC.

I've read the same thing, not sure how to do it on this phone, will have to fiddle with it.

I don't really care for 5G or whatever, just need to make calls and texts, and maybe open my dang coupon lol

I switched to T Mobile from Verizon, and so far have had less problems network wise, and a cheaper bill. No complaints there.

i remember it was easy to turn off 3g on i-phones and stay on 2g, back in the day. i never messed with it since than though because i never really had tmobile trouble

Hmmm...well thanks for the replies guys. Technology sucks nowadays, like most things man created, but not man made.

Turn off wifi

I usually just toggle airplane mode on and off to get things to work again.
I'm also on tmo.

With android you can turn off 5g and stay on LTE only. My last phone I never had the 5g on because it would absolutely roast the battery.

Funny you say that, something has been roasting my phone...super random times though...I'll try that.

I have an S22+ and I'm using Google Fi. It connects to Tmobile most of the time. I really haven't experienced many problems with a strong signal, but no connectivity. The few times I have run into that problem I resolved it by going into mobile network settings and turning off 5G.
