I wired mine to conform with my home state's laws.
that it's allowable for the foglamps to light with the parking lamps,
but they must be off with the high beam lamps.
AND that driving lamps must only light with the highbeams.
But to be honest I was going to wire them that way anyway.
If I want to "bypass" the relay logic I can add another relay and switch
to isolate the fog lamp relay from the high beam filament feed and supply it with an alternate source of ground.
when I was wiring my '87 truck to accept the '93 4.0 engine
and (more importantly) the power distribution system from
the '93 Explorer I included several extra wires from behind the
dashboard to the power distribution load center
(the fuse and relay box under the hood)
And as a bizarre note the wires I used to do that were some
mil-spec wire I got years ago from a defense contractor I worked for...
I literally rescued it from the scrap bin.. but as it turns out what I
thought was teflon insulated silver-plated wire isn't plated...
Cool thing is that I still have the rest of the spool
No I ain't gonna sell it for scrap, but fortunatly I rescued
several lengths of it I used for aux lights and audio power
wiring on another truck before it went out for scrap.
