That's been in the works for a long time. Ford does own a lot of stock but they have yet to buy them out.

Tired of hearing this Ford Owns Cummins thing. They don't own a bunch of CUmmins stock and they aren't going to buy them out. One time I posted a link to a financial page showing who owns over a certain percentage of Cummins stock. The largest shareholder is some bank in Taxechusetts. Ford wasn't on the list. Cummins used to have a FAQ that said "Ford does not own Cummins. Often a company holds a portion of another companies stock, as Cummins also holds stock from other companies."
