sway bars

Well I know for sure that I have no swaybar in front or behind the axle and also no rear sway bar. I have a rear swaybar that i would love to throw on there, but i have read that rear without front is dangerous and makes for worse handling. I will probably have to go get a front mount front swaybar and find a way to hook it up, but it doesnt look like there are any provisions for that. I might have to fab up some brackets to hook it to the I-beams. on my dad's 97 the brackets are in a very difficult position on the I-beams if i wanted to add them. I would have to pull the whole front suspension apart and probably press a bolt out somehow. Anyway, the point is, i am going to have to fab up I-beam connection brackets.

i am a firm believer in larger than stock swaybars or the correct term stabilizer bars. for three reasons 1, safety 2, superior handling especially for a truck like yours that is lifted the higher center of gravity needs extra anti-body roll characteristics. 3, fun you can hang your ranger in a high speed turn and it will stick. my 2.3 may be a slow runner but i have a set of explorer 16" wheels on on it with 215-60-16 bgf touring t/a tires. wow does it stick. i did have at one time four splash wheels and the 235-60-15 just too heavy. yes they did stick well but the unsprung weight was too much for the brakes to haul to a stop. tech note: the diameter of the stock 215-70-14 is the same circumference of 215-60-16 so your speedo will be correct. thers a great webpage on the discount tire direct. called tire dimensions made easy. it is in the tech section you simply plug in your stock size and then plug in the size you want to run and click the submit button and it wil spit out all the differences for you and a speedo difference. its a really cool online calculator!!

oh yeah davis check out hellwig website that is the brand i am running on my slow runner. i got them from summit racing

You shouldn't be driving your truck like a car, especially if its lifted. I pulled my sway bar off, and I can deal with the handling changes.
