what does everyone have for a front sway bar on a lifted setup? ive only got 2 inches of lift, still been using the stock sway bar and links. but its often a pita to get the pin back in unless im on a completely level surface, which is almost never. ive been thinking about buying something that is adjustable to help get the links back on.

Sway Bar Disconnect

Initial plan when I did my D35 swap was to retain the D28 radius arm and rear sway bar. Had the brainy idea last night if I used the sway bar that came with my '95 D35 it probably wouldn't be too hard to make it disconnect for more articulation. Anybody done this?

I did find a set of disconnects I think for a CJ (later one) that looked like they would work but would be way too long. Methinks it would be easy to cut them to length and drill a hole though.

Just take them off. They are actually called anti-sway bars and are meant to keep the frames from flexing when cornering. That's why some of them disconnect for more articulation. Or something like that.

my springs are 320 ppi, where as stock springs are like 500 ppi. i have been driving with the sway bar off, but its coming to the end of snow wheeling season, and ill be doing more camping. it drives a lot better with it on. after i got tired of not being able to get them back together, my solution was to take them off. now im tired of the lean during corners. especially since, i live in idaho, where the road follows the river, we have a bunch of long tight corners.

you might be onto something there!

my other thought is to get a jk sway bar, and get rid of the problematic actuator they have.

exactly, i have 24 inches of useable travel. and although i mostly leave the sway bars connected; im just looking for an easier way to reconnect them un un-level ground. i had thought about doing something with allthread, so i could just screw the link up/down. but im not sure if the threads would take to the pressure well.

Could you use chain. I really have no idea what I'm talking about. But I would think all thread would bend, stainless all thread would snap, so a chain is strong and would limit over stretching(?) the suspension.???

No.

As you corner one wheel is pushed up relative to the chassis which pushes up on the sway bar which pulls the opposite wheel up to try to keep the vehicle level.
