I have a 2001 Mountaineer with a 5.0L. I want to put it into my 72 Bronco with the EFI setup. I was wondering if I should use the Mountaineer wiring, computer, etc. to do the job or would I be better off with an older Mustang setup and just sell mine. I see that it's almost plug-n-play to put it in a newer Ranger, so maybe I can sell it and buy what I need. What would I need to keep and what to sell? I going to keep the engine since it only has 52,000 miles on it. Any suggestions?

I'd just scrap all the EFI stuff and carb it. Add electronic ignition, 1.7 Cobra roller rockers, a high rise dual plane intake and a 600 cfm carb. It'll do everything an EFI setup will except for altitude changes. I'm running this same setup in my 89 Ranger.

You may have to cut with the EFI setup as well. Maybe if you went with a 88-93 T-Bird/Cougar upper or a 94-95 Stang upper it might go in without cutting.

If you went with a lowirse 4 bbl intake, you can retain the factory aircleaner assembly.
