swaping 2pc drive shaft for 1pc


When you lift a truck with a 2 piece shaft, it will cause a drive line vibration at the carrier bearing. You can sometimes drop the carrier bearing a bit to try and compensate for this, but it will usually never go away. The 1 piece shaft, cures this problem.

IT typically vibrates MORE on a 4x4.


how it helps is reducting the driveshaft angle because it's a long shallow slope from the t-case output flange to the rear axle

it looks cool and adds up to 15 horses. If you lift it 6"+ go with the driveshaft swap as well. may as well get an explorer 8.8 in there while youre at it. then it will be ready for plenty abuse.

ps i wish my 91 had a 4.0
 
Don't I have an 8.8 in it now? 4.0 I thought I did So I would have to get a 98 or newer 4x4 ext cab D.S. to replace it then... right? I have 91 4x4 4.0 super cab.
 
Obviously. thats what my little thing says about my truck. but I want to do it. trick is finding a junked 98 or newer ranger that meets my exact needs.
 
Funny thing is I just had my carrier bearing replaced. But now I am going to lift it 4 inches. Rough country.
