Surges at 3000 rpm, lack of power uphill and most any other time...

Im not sure but I would figure that if it was not working right it would still give you false info, plus that temp your seeing may be the result of the sending unit that controls your gauge as it seems your digital display is more or less a fancy version of that in dash gauge. It may be reading the temp that your sending unit is telling it but that doesn't mean that the coolant temp sensor still isn't confused. It may be thinking the truck is either way to hot or way to cold and its sending that info to the brain, but the gauge sensor reads the temp in real time. I don't know too much about this im sure there is someone who knows better but it makes some sense to me.

hey... i don't know if you have fixed it yet but every time we (the shop i am at) have gotten these codes and symptoms... it turns out being the fuel pump... it doesn't hold enough pressure to open both banks all the time.... i would check that... it should be like 58-72psi i think

Well, I found out what it was.

After replacing fuel pump, filter, air filter, plugs, and maf sensor, It lost almost all power and I limped home. Turns out it was the pre-cat on the driver's side.

I haven't fixed it yet but I removed the bolts and that gave it enough breathing room to let the exhaust out just before the pre-cat.
