Supperrunner Steering

Have a couple questions about the superrunner steering kit. The stock steering seems a little goofy. I like this steering setup alot better.

They are questions based off information I've already gathered.

1). The superrunner kit needs a dropped pitman arm. I have a dropped pitman arm off a HighRider STX. Will this work fine?

2). As for replacement parts I know that the Outer TRE's can be replaced with the stock Ranger ones, but what about the other parts? Are they more non-wearing?

I've got many years use on mine and so far no problems with tierod wear (I do grease them diligently at least once, sometimes twice a year). The upper idlerarm bushings on my Ranger developed a slight bit of play however (not enough I could feel it while driving it though).

The STX arm should work, although ANY drop arm will work as well (exc the SJ 'extreme' arm).

IIRC, I think Joel H (Copykat) found that shortside F-250 TIB tierods were similar to the Superlift inner pieces, although I don't recall if it could substitute for both, or just one side (there is about a 2" or so difference between them).

The Ranger, Bronco II, and Explorer TRE's will swap into the Superunner steering. I replaced the TRE's in my Superunner steering because when I got it, the kit was used. The TRE sleeves also swap from any Ranger, Bronco II, or Explorer TTB.

Ok.

My biggest concern is, I get 6-7 years of use out of it, then something wears out (Besides the outer TRE's, and sleeves), my only option would be to buy a whole new kit. That's $300+.

That's a big delima between running stock steering linkage vs. superrunner.

If the stock steering is completely falt will it perform decent, or will the superrunner still out perform? In performce, I mean work against the TTB "bump steer".

You can buy every part for it from Superlift.

Superlift charges a pretty penny though.

Another option might be getting parts from a place like www.partsmike.com. I think they build steering links to pretty much any specification you provide them with.

As for the stock linkage, it should be quite acceptable if it's perfectly inline with the beams. You still may get some strange effects while driving slowly over off-cambered surfaces though (you'll likely notice this on steep hillclimbs that are rutted up from people digging it all up with open differentials).
