Supercharger and Turbo

without investing thousands in custom engine parts, a turbo on top of a blower will shred your motor. just a turbo with the boost cranked up would dramatically shorten your engines life expectancy.

there was a blower kit available for the vulcan. it was made by whipple and has been discontinued for a few years now. guys are getting an average of 8PSI out of it...but have seen up to 12 or so.

if you want something that is reliable, and want to stick with forced induction...your best bet would be a low boost turbo. i wouldnt run more then 10psi on something i wanted to last. you could expect somewhere in the area of 240HP from such a setup.

even at a low boost like 10psi...you'll still need much support equipment just to get it running (injectors, pump, regulator, and something to make your computer accept the boost)...and even more if you want it to last (cooling system upgrades being at the top of the list).

and that still doesnt take care of your very weak auto tranny.

you mean a programmer. depending on the year of vehicle, you may or may not have that option.

they are usually good for about 10-15HP on their own. but they also open up a lot of options for modifying your engine (to a point).
