Doing some research. How much more does a super cab weigh than a Regular cab?

I dont know for sure. My ext cab 4.0 weighed in at 4300 when it was stock. This was with probably 300lbs of me and some other stuff in the cab and bed.

my super cab weighs 5400 pounds with me in it.:) with normal gear its 5800.:dntknw:

i dont remember the specs exactly, but i seem to remember just under 320 pounds for bare cabs for some reason...or maybe 220.. but 320 is what rings to me.:dunno:

So just the cabs.....the reg cab only weighs 320# less?

That's not too much of a difference. I guess there is only a bit more cab...little more than a foot.

While I'm at it......is there much of a difference between the 2wd solid cast TIB beams and the 4x4 TTB Beams?

I thought I'd heard that the TTB beams minus the chunk actually weighs less than the solid TIB beams.

i would have a hard time believing that the forged beams are not lighter then the ttb 35. but i do not know the specs...i have read them just have no memory at all of them.

as it is so small it just dont matter.

Hmm.. I could have sworn that my 4x4 ext 4.0L auto, wieghed right around 4100 when I went to the dump a while back (after unloading)... I remember my dad saying his Suzuki XL-& wieghs more, at 4,300. And it had about half a tank of gas, with me and my dad in it (about 350lbs- both of us combined), and how ever much half a tank wieghs. And there was no other gear in the truck except for a pair of jumper cables and a small tow strap.

Which, that being said, these number are pretty much right on: http://www.fordf150.net/specs/04ranger.php

" Regular Cab SuperCab
Styleside 6ft Styleside 7ft Styleside 6ft
4x2 4x4 4x2 4x4 4x2 4x4

Base curb weight: 3028 3464 3094 3530 3193 3705"

3705+350= 4055lbs plus about 50lbs (maybe) for gas.

In that first link to the PDF, all I see is GVWR ratings, that's it. Which are between 4300-5000.

EDIT: Dangit!! Nomatter what I try, I can't get that part of the chart formated right in the post.

My bare bones, (no AC/no power anything/no boxliner/rubber floor) reg cab long bed 4wd 4.0L 5 speed 97' weighed in at 3600lbs.

My fully loaded 97'ex cab with wooden boxliner/winch and bumper/35"krawlers on 10"steels/etc.....weighs in at a cool 4700lbs, solid axle and all

Curb weight is in that PDF I posted. It has the base curbs at the bottom. It also has the weight of each accessory a couple pages above.

Weighing your truck on a CAT Scale is about the only way to be sure of it's real weight. Other scales don't have to be zero'd out. They only have to be certified between Gross and Tare weight. If you get an empty weight at the gravel quarry or the dump it doesn't mean it's accurate. The only thing that has to be accurate is the difference between when you arrived and when you left. A CAT Scale or similar is certified gross and is for enforcement, not commerce.

The difference in curb weight between the reg cab 4x4 and the supercab 4x4 is only 191#. That's a little less than I would have thought, and really isn't that much more weight. That's good to know.:D

I appreciate everyones help!

The majority of the difference is on the front axle though (if you're selecting front coils for it, this will matter quite a bit)

If memory serves me right, I think my 96' Ranger 2wd ex-cab, step-side bed, weighs about 3,300 to 3,400 lbs. I know with me and my buddy, plus scrap steel in the bed, it weighed 3,850lbs.

yep, just by putting my winch on the front of my truck(removeable carrier,120lbs) it lowers it an inch.thats with ttb springs.flexy coils would sag even more.
