Sunroof in 01 Ranger Regular cab!!

I was just wondering if anyone would know where the best place, or wesite would be to get a sunroof for a 01 Ford Ranger regular cab. Has anyone done this before, is it a good idea, and do they work well, and how much do you think!!! Thanks everyone!!

here is a pic of my 85 with a split sunroof, but it came with the truck so i dont know where it came from and i dont really like it cuz it leaks and makes it hot inside. just something for you to think about.

Well on LMC truck, they have sunroof's for the Exploder. So I'm sure you can get one and just fit it in your truck.

They are quite expensive though.

Best place is the U-Pull-It scrapyard.

There are plenty of Explorers with manual sunroofs in there and you can get one for $20.

Just be sure to get the drain lines too.

my '93 has a sunroof, but like rangerthree02, mine was in the truck when i got it. whoever installed it did a very good job as it looks factory inside and out and ive never had any problems with it leaking (other then the time i left it open).

i think i have the paperwork for it laying around somewhere...ill try to remember to dig it up later.

are you sure it was not the factory optional one , the first road legal ranger i had was a 97 Reg Cab with a Power sunroof , and now i just got a 97 Reg Cab Parts truck with a power sunroof , they were a factory option at one point , as both the ones in my 97's were IDENTICAL , i mean exact same

ford never put a sunroof in a ranger from the factory. maybe theres a company near you that installed a bunch of sunroofs and you happened to end up with two of their rigs conversion companies like to get ahold of a bunch of rigs to modify and release onto the public at once.

could be , figuring that both of my 97's were bought brand new in this area , one came from buffalo ( i bought the parts truck from the original owner ) and the other came from rochester ( i was the third owner )

but it is kinda weird that they were both bought in Western NY , why would anyone need a sunroof here

im thinking of doing this on my 02' , i think an explorer two door sport sunroof will work. i wanted to weld some supports from pillar to pillar, dnt knw how yet.

Uhhh.... actually ford DID install a sunroof in a Ranger from the factory.

I've seen four of them over the years.

They used the same twist-knob opened sunroof found in Eddie bauer Bronco2's '84-87 and in first generation Explorers.

I have retrofitted one of these sunroof assemblies into my 1987 supercab
and if you saw it (and it's drain hoses) installed in my truck without the
headliner installed you'd swear it was designed to fit...

BTW, the sunroof IS a "Stiffener" for the roof as the sunroof frame is far more rigid than the sheet metal it replaces.

My 83 ranger has a sun roof in it. Not sure if its factory or not, but it's definitely awesome

Rangers didn't have sunroofs from the factory. Dealerships have installed them though..

There is a Company here in town (Tops of Tallahassee) and it is rumored that they will/can put a sunroof on anything.
