suggestions for exhaust

wat do u think wud be the most legit set up to run?? like a straight through muffler wit 2.5 pipe? or smaller 2.25? and wat about a dump after the muffler??

its up to you.

like i said before, i wouldnt go any bigger than 2" to maintain as much bottom end a possible...but thats just me. you might gain a little more top end power if you went 2.5".

muffler selection is also up to you. i hate the sound of a noisy 4-banger, so i would use the stock muffler...again, thats just what i would do.

dumping the exhaust under the truck is a bad idea and i hate when guys do that. exhaust gasses are extremely corrosive and trapping them under the truck is a good way to speed corrosion of steel components under the truck. on top of that, dumping the exhuast under the truck traps a buble of CO2 under the truck, increasing the risk of the gas entering the cab and poisoning you.

besides that it sounds dumb.

if you dont want to run the pipe all the way out the back, at least dump it out the side before the wheel.

im gonna try out that smaller pipe.. but hey isnt that stock muffler really restrictive??

no the stock muffler isnt really restrictive.

just out of curriosity, how wud the truck run if u deleted the muffler and went 2.25 straight pipe from the cat? i know it would be super loud and anoying but how bout power wise?

pretty close to the way it does now.

there isnt much you can do to improve upon the stock sytem. nothing you do is going to make a HUGE difference. you can either be satisfied with the way it performs now, or you can go to a larger pipe and sacrifice a little bottom end torque for some more top end HP...its up to you.

Does the gibson exhaust for the 3.0 fit the 2.3L 4cyl?

they don't make one for 4 cyl that i can find, the only one i can find is heartthrob
