My 87 with the 2.0 and a carb has been running great. Filled up with gas Friday and I drive this thing every day. This morning coming to work I am cruising down the highway and suddenly it was like somebody pulled off a plug wire or 2. Sputtered, dragged but then ran fine again. For about a minute, then started doing it again. Did this the rest of the way to work. My first thought was a clogged fuel filter, but I cleaned the carb and fuel filter on Saturday, plus the filter is only 6 months old. Then I thought bad gas, but it seems I would have had problems before now since I have driven over 80 miles since I filled up. I have to make a 375 mile trip on Saturday and I was hoping to take the truck, but if this keeps up...

check that your coolant hose is placed in the correct area on the valve cover on mine the p/o had broken 2 of the 3 clips and so the hose was falling down and hitting the number three spark plug wire and making my truck do the same thing

I checked that and there wasn't a problem. I am thinking when I soaked the carb then sprayed it with carb cleaner and blew it out with compressed air, there was still some gunk in there that got loose and clogged something up. A rebuild kit was $100. NOT
