Stumbling 2.9L

i am also having a similar problem i was told it could be the map sensor that is located on the passenger side fire wall with a 3 wire plug going to it but i am doing my research before i just start replacing things :dunno:

Turns out it was a freaking faulty sparkplug :pissedoff: What are the odds of getting a brand new faulty spark plug :icon_confused:

Good enough that you managed to get one.:icon_thumby:

As for my problems, I will be replacing the plugs, wires, cap and rotor here in the next few months. I will first have to find the coolant leak somewhere in the back of the motor. It is not a big one, just a few drops while it sits at work. Odd thing is that while I was on a break, I placed a sheet of big paper under the truck with bricks to hold it down and ran the truck for 20mins at idle to get the temp up to normal. I looked under the truck and no spots on the paper. But I let it sit for about an hour then checked on it, there was a few drops on the paper that looked like oil, but tasted sweet like coolant. I just fixed the oil leak I had on the valve covers, both sides the bolts were so loose I could turn them by hand. That is one leak taken car of, now another to go. I am thinking it is a freeze plug, but they only have like 48k on them in 12 years. Seem like a short time to go as the former owner did a flush every year and a half and took care of it. They are also stainless if I remember correctly. Only other thing it could be is a cracked heater core, a known problem with these trucks.

My 88 just started doing this. I also have a cracked head so this may be causing it.
Will check fuel pressure regulator.
